About

Unfortunately, British agriculture has taken rather a savage hit over the years as us Brits look internationally to source our produce. Now we have the option to have pretty much any food available to us at any point of year, it’s not surprising that British producers are finding it difficult to compete with international producers.

In fairness, it’s actually pretty difficult to know what to eat at a certain point of the year, and because everything is now on our doorstep it is so easy just to settle for something which isn’t from the UK.

The aim of this blog is to highlight what it’s important to look out for domestically grown food and highlight easy ways to reintroduce local goods into our lives. That way we can hopefully increase demand for UK goods and support British food producers which are facing a tough time of ever squeezed margins and competitive pricing that is completely unfeasible.

So, this is me – my name’s Georgia and I’m a journalist by day, beer lover and food fanatic by night (and also day). Sourcing British produce is a cause that is particularly close to my heart and I’m using this blog as a bit of a learning curve to see how I can use as much British produce as possible, and hopefully encourage others to do the same.
